DIRECTOR - STEPHEN LLOYD HELPER

Known for quality work of cultural diversity, Steve received a Distinction in the Multicultural Arts Professional Development program at RMIT and is a graduate of Yale.

Recently, his production of CAFÉ REBETIKA! premiered at the Arts Centre Melbourne, toured the East Coast culminating in a sold out season at the Sydney Opera House and a triumphant return Melbourne season.

On Broadway, Steve’s production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF was nominated for the Best Revival Tony Award. SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE, which he conceived, is among the 30 longest running Broadway musicals of all time.

At the Sydney Opera House, Steve’s SIMPLY WEILL, Sondheim’s FOLLIES and YOU’RE GONNA LOVE TOMORROW and LOVE LETTERS were all acclaimed.

Upcoming projects include, a new Aboriginal musical comedy THE NEW BLACK, A SIGN OF THE TIMES and a project with Aboriginal actor Lynette Lewis.
